There are a few things to keep in mind when applying:

  • We do not accept any telephone inquiries regarding potential employment. 

  • Any questions regarding employment/hiring/interviews can be emailed to

  • Applications may be returned via email, postal mail, or fax. In order to help ensure that all candidates receive equal consideration, we do not accept applications that are dropped off in person. 

  • Jobs at R.D. Maximus include entry-level laborer, general laborer, equipment operator, foreman, superintendent, operations specialist, estimator, and general office personnel

  • Jobs or Application questions referring to 'heavy equipment' means equipment like bulldozers, excavators, skip loaders, backhoes, motor graders, asphalt pavers, asphalt rollers, wheel loaders or scrapers.

    • Experience with using light industrial equipment such as pallet jacks & jib cranes, or light landscaping equipment such as a skidsteer (Bobcat) does not equate to heavy equipment operation experience. 

  • We are a NON-UNION company. When engaged in public works contracts our employees are paid according to the DIR prevailing wage scale. 

  • We require all employees to have earned a high school diploma or GED.

  • We have a ZERO tolerance policy for alcohol/drugs (including marijuana). We engage in frequent and unannounced alcohol/drug screenings.

  • We use a points-based screening system in our hiring process. Applicants with verifiable service in any branch of the the U.S. military are provided additional points that equate to a 10% veteran preference.

  • Certain jobs will require a knowledge assessment that is conducted during the interview.
